A dental implant is a permanent solution for missing teeth that can look and feel like your natural tooth. Many of our patients can tell the difference between the implant they received and a natural tooth!
At Huckabee Dental in Southlake, we have invested in the technology and training to not only offer dental implants, but to maximize the comfort and results for our patients. When you receive a dental implant at Huckabee Dental, you’ll have the implant, abutment and crown all in the comfort of our office. No need to go to multiple offices or different doctors.
We have placed and restored dental implants for over 20 years. Even if you have been told in the past you cannot have implants, with new technology we can often treat people who thought they were hopeless. We place more implants in one week than many dentists will in an entire year.
What are Dental Implants?
Dental Implants are made up of three parts; the implant, the abutment and the crown. The implant itself is a medical-grade titanium screw that is embedded directly into the jawbone and serves as the root for your new tooth. The abutment is a connector that attaches your new tooth or teeth to the implant. The crown is a prosthetic tooth made of zirconium or porcelain for durability and a natural look. We perform all of the steps listed above in the comfort of our Southlake dental office.
Why Choose Dental Implants?
Dental implants can be used to replace any number of teeth from a single tooth to and entire mouthful. Because implants are placed directly into the jawbone they will eventually fuse with the living bone, creating a strong anchor and providing a natural feeling that also eliminates the problems with eating that are associated with dentures. Most importantly, a lost tooth can result in jawbone loss, which in turn, increases the likelihood of losing more teeth. Implants prevent bone loss because they are embedded in the bone just like a real tooth.
