Advanced Dental Technology

Bringing Dentistry
into the Modern Era

Dental care today is not the same as what you might remember as a child. There have been many advancements in technology as the decades have gone by, and it has allowed dentists to make more accurate diagnoses, provide more comfortable treatments, and shorten appointment times. At Huckabee Dental, all of our dental experts make a point of keeping up with the latest advancements so that we can keep integrating new technology into our dental office to improve our services.

Intraoral
Cameras

An intraoral camera is a small device that fits comfortably in your mouth and allows us to take detailed pictures of your teeth and gums from different angles. In addition to being a useful examination tool, this also allows us to show you the parts of your mouth that you wouldn’t be able to see on your own. This helps ensure that you’re fully informed about your own oral health and don’t have to rely on your imagination when we describe any existing problems to you.

All-Digital
X-Rays

Radiography has been a staple of dental care for many years, and now digital technology has made it more useful than ever before. The images taken with a digital X-ray machine are much clearer, and they can be viewed immediately on our chairside computers. Compared to traditional radiography, they expose patients to 90 percent less radiation, and they forego the need for a darkroom filled with environmentally harmful chemicals. On our end, they’re more convenient because we can store them on a computer instead of a bulky filing cabinet.

3D Cone Beam
Imaging

Traditional X-rays give us a two-dimensional view of the teeth and underlying dental structures. With 3D cone beam imaging, we can create a full digital model of your oral cavity that can be examined from any angle. The images used to create this model capture various dental structures – such as the nerves hiding under your gums – that we need to account for when planning dental implant placement or other types of oral surgery and otherwise advanced dental procedures.

iTero® Digital
Impression System

Our iTero® scanner lets us create digital impressions of your teeth in as little as two or three minutes. No longer do you have to deal with unpleasant putty-based impressions that often get broken or rejected. With iTero, we can get accurate results the first time without causing any unnecessary discomfort. The ultimate result is improved dental treatment as well as a more comfortable experience overall. Furthermore, you’ll have the chance to see your teeth in 3D, which will make it easier for us to communicate your needs.

Soft Tissue
Laser Dentistry

A soft tissue laser is a focused beam of light energy that a dentist can use to perform certain treatments, such as the removal of gum tissue. This is often done for patients who are suffering from gum disease; a laser can painlessly remove infected tissue and help reduce the level of harmful bacteria in the area. The energy from the laser will cauterize any exposed blood vessels, which means you’ll see very little bleeding after the procedure is done.
